Sorry, this item has sold.

This is a big beautiful basket made by the Tonga people from the Binga region of northern Zimbabwe, Africa. It is expertly constructed from wild grasses, vines and palm leaves and is extremely strong and solid. These baskets are still in use for winnowing grains. The basket measures 21" in diameter by 4 1/2" deep. It is in great condition, I only see 1 tiny break on the rim wrapping. This is a really lovely basket with a beautiful pattern!
