This is a rustic vintage wire locker or gym basket. The basket measures 19 1/2" x 13" x 7 1/2" high and has some rust and bent wires. It has the original metal tags, one attached to the basket which reads: AM. PLAYGR. DEV. CO. / 383 / ANDERSON, IND. and a small round tag with the number 383 also tied to the basket with string. This type of basket was given out at the pool I went to when I was a child and the small tag was pinned to our swimsuit while the basket containing our belongings was turned in at the desk for security. This one was made by the American Playground Device Co. of Anderson, Indiana. This is the only one I've found with the matching tag still attached!
