Sorry, this item has sold.

This is a very nice hand carved doll/figure made by the Tarahumara people of the Copper Canyon, Chihuahua, Mexico. The figure was carved from a dark wood, not sure what kind, and has hand sewn, natural fiber clothing. The figure stands 9" tall and his shoulders are 2 3/4" across and he is carved from one piece of wood. The arms and legs don't move. This is a beautiful example of the varied craft work of the Tarahumara people. They also make exquisite baskets, lovely wood fired pottery and are renowned for their long-distance running ability.
